Kate director chair

The Kate director chair is a contemporary interpretation of the classic director’s chair. The frame is crafted from solid A-grade teak and fitted with stainless steel hinges and connections, ensuring stability, durability and a refined appearance.

Thanks to its folding design, the chair is practical and easy to store. The solid construction provides a stable seating experience, even in open outdoor environments where wind and changing weather conditions may play a role. This makes it well suited for use near water or in coastal settings, without compromising on style.

The seat and backrest are made from Textilene® or Phifertex®, depending on the selected colour. These materials are UV-resistant, quick drying and low maintenance, making them ideal for both garden and maritime environments.

The Kate director chair is available in four colours:

• Cloud – Phifertex® PVC/Olefin

Textilene® is a strong, UV- and colour-resistant material that is breathable and quick drying. It is durable and easy to maintain, making it particularly suitable for outdoor use.

The new Cloud version is made from Phifertex®, a premium PVC/Olefin blend combining structural strength with a softer touch. The light grey tone enhances the modern and subtly nautical character of the chair.

Sustainability and materials

The Kate director chair is crafted from solid A-grade teak sourced from responsibly managed plantations. This premium teak is carefully selected for structural stability, grain quality and long-term durability.

Teak is naturally resistant to moisture, mould and decay due to its high oil and rubber content, making it exceptionally suitable for outdoor and coastal environments.

Over time, untreated teak will develop a natural silver-grey patina when exposed to the elements. This is purely aesthetic and does not affect the quality or lifespan of the chair.

Care and maintenance – Kate director chair

For maintaining the teak components, we recommend using only Traditional Teak care products. These products have been specially developed to clean and protect the wood and preserve its natural appearance.

Teak Cleaner and Brightener 1 & 2
To clean weathered teak and restore its original warm colour, we recommend Teak Cleaner and Brightener 1 & 2.

Teak Sealer 3
If you wish to maintain the warm teak tone for as long as possible, Teak Sealer 3 is an excellent choice.

Teak PatinaShield 4 & 5
Teak PatinaShield protects the surface from dirt and moisture while supporting the development of an even, natural silver-grey patina.
