Marcella club chair – flat rope

The Marcella Club Chair is designed as a fully fledged lounge chair, offering generous seating space within a compact footprint. With a width and depth of 77 cm and a seat height of 38 cm, it provides a low, relaxed lounge position.

The continuous curved shape of the backrest and armrests is a defining feature of Povl Eskildsen’s design. Together with the rounded teak legs, it gives the chair its distinctive organic lines. The woven flat rope — a broad, flat outdoor rope in the colour Linen — follows these curves and has a slight degree of flexibility when seated, providing comfortable support for the back.

The construction combines teak, powder-coated aluminium and flat rope in Linen. The teak and aluminium together create a strong, stable base, while the teak adds the warm, natural character associated with the Marcella collection.

The seat and back cushions are included as standard and are colour-coordinated with the Linen rope. Together with the slightly flexible rope construction, they create a soft and relaxed lounge seating experience.

Despite its generous dimensions and solid construction, the Marcella Club Chair weighs approximately 9 kg, making it easy to reposition on a terrace or veranda.

Features – Marcella Club Chair

The Marcella Club Chair – flat rope is constructed from teak, powder-coated aluminium and flat rope. These materials have been deliberately combined to bring together strength, comfort and a calm, balanced appearance.

The supporting frame is made from extra-heavy, thick-walled aluminium profiles. This gives the chair stability and strength while remaining well suited to outdoor use. The aluminium is finished with a powder coating for durable and even protection.

The flat rope is tightly and carefully woven around the aluminium back and armrest structure. It gives slightly when seated, contributing to the comfortable character of the chair.

The rounded teak legs form a solid base and are also a recognisable feature of the Marcella design. Nylon gliders are fitted underneath the legs to help protect both the furniture and the surface beneath it.

Cushions – Marcella Club Chair

The Marcella Club Chair is supplied as standard with a seat cushion and back cushion in a matching light colour, carefully coordinated with the Linen rope.

The cushions are an important part of the chair’s seating comfort. The seat cushion provides soft support, while the back cushion fits comfortably against the curved backrest. Combined with the slightly flexible woven flat rope, this creates a comfortable and relaxed lounge seating experience.

For an additional charge, the cushions are also available in a wide selection of high-quality outdoor fabrics from Sunbrella® and Agora®. These fabrics are specifically developed for outdoor use and are known for their durability, colourfastness and easy-care properties.

Marcella Collection

The Marcella Club Chair is part of the Marcella collection by Traditional Teak, designed by Povl Eskildsen.

The rounded lines, teak detailing and use of aluminium and (flat) rope form the recognisable foundation of the collection. This creates a clear visual connection between the different Marcella models.

The Club Chair in flat rope Linen, together with the Club Footstool, pairs particularly well with the Marcella Dining Chair flat rope Linen. This makes it possible to create dining and lounge areas in the same materials and colour palette.

For a complete outdoor setting, the Marcella collection can be complemented with a selection of coffee tables and side tables.

Care – Marcella Club Chair

Teak can be left untreated outdoors. When exposed to sunlight and weather, its warm natural colour gradually develops into a silver-grey patina.

If you would like to clean the teak, restore its original colour or preserve the warm teak tone for longer, you can use the care products from Traditional Teak:

For cleaning dirty or weathered teak and restoring its original warm teak colour.

For those who want to preserve the warm teak colour for longer and slow down the natural greying process.

Teak PatinaShield 4 & 5
For protection against dirt and moisture when the teak is intended to weather naturally to a silver-grey patina.

The powder-coated aluminium and rope can be cleaned with water and a mild detergent under normal conditions. For the cushions, we recommend following the care instructions provided for the selected fabric.
