Marcella club footstool – flat rope

The Marcella Club Footstool has a total height of 38 cm including the cushion, while the woven supporting surface is positioned at approximately 34 cm. These proportions align well with the low seating position of the Marcella Club Chair and provide comfortable support for the feet and lower legs in a relaxed lounge position.

Measuring 56 × 56 cm, the footstool provides ample support without making the overall setting unnecessarily large. At 8 kg, it stands firmly in place while remaining easy to move whenever you want to rearrange the lounge setting.

Features – Marcella Club Footstool

The construction combines rounded teak legs, powder-coated aluminium connections and outdoor flat rope in the colour Linen. The aluminium elements add stability to the structure, while the flat rope — a broad, flat outdoor rope — forms the supporting surface and has a slight degree of flexibility under load.

A subtle cross brace underneath the supporting surface strengthens the construction without compromising the open character of the design. The rope is tightly woven around the frame, creating a strong yet slightly flexible base for the cushion.

Gliders are fitted underneath the legs to help protect both the teak and the surface beneath it.

Cushions – Marcella Club Footstool

The Marcella Club Footstool is supplied as standard with a matching cushion in a light shade, carefully coordinated with the Linen flat rope.

The cushion adds extra softness and provides comfortable support for the feet and lower legs. Its shape and colour match the cushions of the Marcella Club Chair, allowing the chair and footstool to form a calm and cohesive lounge combination.

For an additional charge, the cushion is also available in a wide selection of high-quality outdoor fabrics from Sunbrella® and Agora®. These fabrics are specifically developed for outdoor use and are known for their durability, colourfastness and easy-care properties.

Materials and quality

The Marcella Club Footstool combines three materials, each with a clear function: teak, powder-coated aluminium and flat rope.

The teak provides a solid, natural base and is naturally well suited to outdoor use. The aluminium reinforces the construction and is protected and evenly finished with a powder coating. The outdoor rope creates a strong, slightly flexible support underneath the cushion. This combination gives the footstool a solid feel, comfortable support and the practical advantage of being easy to move.

Marcella Collection

The Marcella Club Footstool is part of the Marcella collection by Traditional Teak, designed by Povl Eskildsen.

The rounded teak elements, soft lines and Linen colour directly complement the Marcella Club Chair.

Together, the Marcella Club Chair and Footstool create a complete lounge setting in which form, materials and comfort have been designed as one coherent whole.

Designer – Marcella Club Footstool

The Marcella Club Footstool was designed by Danish designer Povl Eskildsen as part of the Marcella family. His restrained design language is reduced here to the essentials: rounded proportions, a clear construction and functional detailing without unnecessary embellishment.

Rather than drawing attention away from the Club Chair, the footstool continues the same lines and materials. As a result, the two pieces are visually experienced as a single design.

Care – Marcella Club Footstool

Teak can be left untreated outdoors. When exposed to sunlight and weather, its warm natural colour gradually develops into a silver-grey patina.

If you would like to clean the teak, restore its original colour or preserve the warm teak tone for longer, you can use the care products from Traditional Teak:

The powder-coated aluminium and outdoor rope can be cleaned with water and a mild detergent under normal conditions. For the cushion, we recommend following the care instructions for the selected fabric.
